Forget “Your Body.”
In 2027, the Sphere will be John Mayer‘s “Wonderland.”
Due to overwhelming demand, the seven-time Grammy winner prolonged his residency at Las Vegas’ one-of-a-kind immersive venue a second time.
Originally set for just six exhibits, Mayer will now carry out 21 (!) live shows that “combine immersive sound, visual spectacle, and sensory feedback to make each show a unique, unforgettable celebration” from April through June 2027.
His most-recently trio of announced Sin City gigs are slated to take place:
Wednesday, June 9
8 p.m.
Friday, June 11
8 p.m.
Saturday, June 12
8 p.m.
At all exhibits, Mayer will put on a three-part expertise with a solo part, a bit alongside his full band and a stretch that includes The John Mayer Trio.
“It’s never lost on me that I get to work with the most talented people to make beautiful things for a living,” the Dead and Company frontman shared via Instagram.
“I can’t wait for you to see and hear what I’m dreaming up.”
Tickets for the new dates formally go on sale on Friday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
However, stock is obtainable for buy for the first 18 Mayer Sphere live shows as of as we speak and can be scooped up on ticket websites like Vivid Seats, StubHub and SeatGeek.
And, while we don’t know what Mayer will take to the stage (by himself, with his full band or Trio), we can make an educated guess primarily based on what he performed at Uncasville, CT’s Mohegan Sun Arena on Oct. 9.
According to Set List FM, the Bridgeport native rocked “Gravity,” “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” “New Light,” “If I Ever Get Around to Living” and, of course, “Your Body Is a Wonderland.”
He also busted out spirited covers of a-ha’s “Take On Me,” Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” Beyoncé’s “XO,” Tex Owens’ “Cattle Call” (that came full with yodeling) and Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’.”
“The music gave the evening its heart…[but] his guitar work was equally compelling,” Hey Rhody famous in a assessment of the night.
“A decade of playing alongside members of the Grateful Dead in Dead & Company has expanded his musical reach…[and] in the solo setting, his deft playing stood out even more clearly, with rhythmic accents and melodic phrases that spoke as eloquently as his lyrics.”
Wit that, we can’t wait to see what Mayer’s Sphere present appears and sounds like.
