Matchbox Twenty new music
In 2023, Rob Thomas and his backing band dropped their fifth studio album “Where The Light Goes.”
Coming in at a tight 45 minutes, the band veers away from the easy energy pop they’ve become identified for.
Instead, Matchbox Twenty embraces an orchestral sound full with twinkling pianos, afrobeats and duets.
The finish end result is something unlike anything they’ve launched before.
Standout tracks embrace the joyous album opener “Friends,” the hypnotic bop “The Queen Of New York,” and the deceptively easy “I Know Better.”
