What You Need To Know

  • The Showtime Speedway is at 4398 126th Ave. N., Clearwater
  • They have Wednesday and Saturday night races
  • Owner Robert Yoho grew up racing and wants to keep the community going

It’s a place where a straight track is called a drag, and an oval one races figure 8s.

Robert Yoho is the owner of Showtime Speedway in Pinellas Park, and he races an outlaw figure eight race carm but he’s got a few race cars.

Yoho bought the speedway more than a dozen years ago.

“It’s a 3/8-mile track. We do anything from drifting, super late models, outlaw figure eights, mini stock, street stock, Crown Vics, you name it,” said Yoho.

As a teen, he worked here, his family raced here and his pals too. He wants to keep that community going.

“Some of these people are third and fourth generation racers,” said Yoho. “And you know we like to say, ‘Keep it off the streets and put it on the strip.’”

Yoho’s first race ever was at the same Speedway in a Ford Pinto, which he wrecked.

Showtime Speedway hosts races every Wednesday and Saturday night. They are in Pinellas Park with a Clearwater address.
