There’s lots of blame to go around for Dodgers’ early exit in the postseason, but the crew’s mismanagement of Ohtani will stay a focus in why one of the finest rosters to ever be assembled in baseball fell overwhelmingly quick of the Fall Classic.
Ohtani dealt with a number of accidents in 2026 and could have very properly been shut down in the summer time to guarantee higher well being come October. But that never occurred.
Instead, the Dodgers let Ohtani proceed taking part in until it grew to become painfully clear the accidents had derailed his offensive manufacturing.

The 2027 season will be a key turning level for the Dodgers as the offseason is positive to convey adjustments in LA. But Ohtani has made it clear that he intends on remaining a two-way participant next yr.
The Dodgers will have to create an environment friendly plan for the getting old Ohtani to do so, particularly contemplating the implications his workload will have by October.
Ohtani hit 30 dwelling runs and sported a sub-2.00 ERA, but his season ended in disaster because of the means his well being was managed all through 2026.
Dodgers followers are inevitably disenchanted with the outcomes as a three-peat appeared possible given the star energy on the roster. But the expertise wasn’t enough to even muster a win over the Brewers in the National League Championship Series and that’s something the Dodgers will have to wrestle with in the coming months.
