Venice Beach is getting a huge new music pageant — with organizers planning to flip its iconic boardwalk and beachfront into a sprawling live performance vacation spot.
The two-day 1905 Fest is slated for fall 2027, promising 5 music phases, more than a dozen bars and lots of meals distributors alongside one of Southern California‘s most recognizable stretches of shoreline.
The pageant is the brainchild of Sam Meyers, a former director of BeachLife Festival, who says the occasion will pay tribute to Venice’s colourful historical past and the imaginative and prescient of its founder, Abbot Kinney.

“Named for the year Venice was founded, 1905 Fest celebrates that legacy with a new two-day festival of music, art, and culture on its iconic coastline,” the pageant’s web site states.
“Welcoming longtime Venetians, new neighbors, old friends, and everyone in between to be part of its next chapter.”
Meyers said the idea is rooted in his “interpretation of what Venice was founded on: having fun and building community.”

The sprawling occasion would be centered around Windward Plaza, close to the well-known Venice Skatepark and Boardwalk, extending onto the sand where Windward Avenue meets the Pacific Ocean.
Renderings posted to the pageant’s web site present a live performance footprint stretching across both the beachfront and close by streets, with 5 phases deliberate for the weekend.
Organizers are also envisioning a free fan zone alongside a briefly closed avenue, giving native companies an alternative to appeal to festivalgoers, according to the Westside Current.

The musical lineup is expected to lean toward indie dance and psychedelic rock, although no performers have been announced.
Meyers, who has lived on the Westside for 9 years and in Venice for eight, said he hopes to revive some of the neighborhood spirit he believes has outlined the beachside neighborhood for generations.
“I’ve lived on the Westside for nine years, eight of them in Venice. I still believe in the spirit of what Kinney envisioned, even if that spirit can sometimes feel a little distant today,” Meyers said.

The formidable proposal still has lots of hurdles, but Meyers instructed the outlet he has obtained support from the workplaces of LA City Councilwoman Traci Park and LA County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath.
The pageant has also secured permits and logistical support from the metropolis, county and native district, according to the report.
Now Meyers is trying to get Venice residents on board, asking locals to share their concepts and recommendations before the pageant takes form. Locals can attain him via e-mail here with their concepts and recommendations.

“What I want to do is unite the people who have lived in Venice for 50-plus years, the people who have lived in Venice for 20-plus years, and the people who just moved here,” Meyers said.
An actual date for the fall 2027 pageant has not been announced. The California Post reached out to Meyers for further particulars.
