The Doobie Brothers are not “Takin’ It to the Streets” in 2027.
Michael McDonald and co. just announced a nine-concert residency at Las Vegas’ 3,800-seat Fontainebleau.
Their reveals — the group’s first at the Fontainebleau — are slated to take place in February, March, August and September.
“Black water, desert nights,” the group shared via Instagram, referencing their iconic 1974 tune.
Prior to this multi-month stint, the Rock Hall of Famers last put on a Sin City residency in May 2022.
At these concert events, the group typically carried out 23 songs per present, according to Set List FM. Just a few of the most notable tracks that typically made their approach to the stage embody fan favorites “Listen to the Music,” “Long Train Runnin’,” “It Keeps You Runnin’” and, of course, “Black Water” and “Takin’ It to the Streets.”
More not too long ago, they toured with Santana (whose ongoing Vegas residency at The House of Blue runs from November ’26 through May ’27) on their Oneness Tour.
“[They] came out of the gate with a bang, with an energy that did not let up throughout their hour-and-a-half set, as they put on a tight, well-rehearsed show, with spot on harmonies and expert musicianship,” Americana Highways raved in a assessment of a July 2026 present in Saratoga Springs.
“It was a pleasure to see and hear the regal Michael McDonald, who can still sing with that wonderfully soulful voice of his. Founding members Pat Simmons (with his ever-present pleasant, congenial disposition) and Tom Johnston (the rugged mustached rocker) sounded great vocally and both played some dynamic guitar solos during the night.”
Now we can’t wait to “Listen To The Music.”

Doobie Brothers new music
“Walk This Road,” The Doobie Brothers’ sixteenth studio album hit cabinets on June 6, 2025.
Things kick off with the boisterous title observe “Walk This Road” that includes Mavis Staples that serves as an wonderful platform for McDonald to mud off his trademark hovering vocals. It’s a feel-good duet that units the tone for what will seemingly be an upbeat album good for cookouts and highway journeys.
After that, The Doobies ship the fiddle-heavy bop “Angels & Mercy” that straddles the line between rock, bluegrass and nation. Somehow, the tune works even if the tune is fairly a departure from their ’70s sound.
The mellow “Call Me” also bucks the group’s aesthetic for something solely completely different. In reality, in an alternate world, we believe this one would have been a big ’90s radio hit. The pleasant jam sounds more Third Eye Blind/Barenaked Ladies/Goo Goo Dolls than Doobie Brothers and there’s nothing unsuitable with that.
Other highlights here embody the mellow yet bluesy “Learn To Let Go,” endlessly catchy “Here To Stay,” and jaunty, Dr. John-esque epic “The Kind That Lasts.” On the complete, “Walk This Road” seems to be The Doobie Brothers’ try to dabble in a quantity of aesthetics they haven’t taken out for a take a look at experience yet.
Finally, “Walk This Road” closes with the Doobies bringing in Mick Fleetwood, Jake Shimabukuro and Henry Kapono for the trippy, tropical “Lahaina.” There’s a trace of melancholy and longing here from the band, which is a welcome change of tempo from their oft-sunny tunes.
To hear for yourself, you can pay attention to “Walk This Road” here.
